Attorney General Drew Edmondson tonight conceded the Democratic gubernatorial primary to Lt. Gov. Jari Askins.
On the Republican side, U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma City had a commanding lead. The Associated Press declared her the nominee with about 56 percent of the vote.
Fallin said tonight she is glad to win the Republican gubernatorial primary without a runoff against state Sen. Randy Brogdon, whom she said provided stiff competition.
"We are pleased that we will not have a runoff and that we can move on to work toward the general election and electing a conservative governor for the state of Oklahoma," she said.
