Former Half Term Gov Palin to Obama: "You asked for the job...so buck up."
Oh, the irony. It burns:

Sarah Palin fired up an enthusiastic Texas crowd late Saturday by criticizing President Barack Obama's handling of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, saying he's falling short on leadership.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate told about 5,000 people at the Oil Palace in Tyler that the president should have been more aggressive in going after BP executives after the spill. The British company was leasing a rig that exploded April 20, causing the largest offshore oil spill in U.S. history.

"You asked for the job, Mr. President, so buck up," Palin said to voracious applause.

Maybe she means he should quit his job mid-term like she did. After all, "only dead fish go with the flow."

Or maybe he just needs to do more chanting.

"I chant, 'drill baby drill,' because it will help make the country energy independent," she said.

Yeah, we'll just chant, baby, chant our way to energy independence. And while we're at it, maybe we could chant our way to economic prosperity. And then we could chant our way to world peace.

And when chanting fails, there's always winking

Oh yeah, she made her remarks at the OIL PALACE in Tyler Texas!!!

5. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.
I find it Incredibly Fascinating that no matter what Obama does the republicans (and the liberal media) will always turn it into a negative. I betcha if he was too strong against BP they would have said he was anti-business and thus anti-american, anti-capitalism and hence proof he is a "muslin" socialist.

Obama is no progressive and i personally think he is more center-right than anything but call him what you will he has tried to do something. This is BPs mess and anyone who tries to blame the president is clearly out to get him out of office no matter what.

My guess is if he was even tougher BP the "uppity negro" meme would come into play on the tube again.

My hope is that Obama over time will become more left-leaning and stay there. I understand that congress is very corrupt and so a true left president would stand little chance of getting anything passed but still i would love to have a leader that respected the progressive ideals.

13. because as the wheels fall off the American Dream
the yayhoos will start looking for someone to blame, and someone to point that finger of blame. electing a cornpone fascist POTUS becomes a very real possibility, and that possibility is perfected in Sarah Palin.

or McChrystal.

maybe McChrystal/Palin.

either way, she must be consistently monitored and ridiculed.

8. Either the storm in her addled mind is ramping up, or she has just suddenly realized that
she is speaking to an increasingly emptying room and is blindly striking out with ridiculous premises in order to keep the money rolling in.

Once I heard that reporters covering her were lol and calling her a stupid woman who shoots out random meaningless stuff (in that hot mike espisode), I figured it was the beginning of the end of her relevance, except for the most devoted followers or as a joke piece for news filler.

I unrec all threads with the name "Palin" in them, and then I hide them. Seems like some DUers are obsessed with her. She's an idiot, I get it. At her peak, there were more Palin posts than anything else in some of the forums.

16. IMO you shouldn't and here's why
Palin is a major spokesperson for the GOP, perhaps the most important one. Hell she gets paid to spread her propaganda on the world's largest media Juggernaut. I've debated with many (very enthusiastic) Palin supporters, and one of the benefits of forums like DU is the mass sharing of information. So when they bring something up we can say, "Oh, yeah. I remember reading about that" and then spit the facts.

28. I used to wonder if my MIL was really as stupid as she seemed, or if
she was really so smart that she could pull off the stupid. In the end, I figured she is just really a stupid woman.

Sarah, I think, is the opposite. She's really playing the whole thing, and her "base", brilliantly.

31. Did you see Chris Matthews's "Sideshow" tonight? He played a clip from TDS last night where Axelrod
was on and Stewart asked him, "...What's the general tenor (in the White House)? Are you feeling the pressure?" Axelrod replied, "We don't have time to worry about that. Things just come at you..." He mentioned the robot bumping into the oil pipe and knocking off the cap and the pirates capturing the captain (early on in Obama's admin.) as examples of unexpected things that happen, and Chris comments, "And Kennedy had the Communists ready to fire missiles from Cuba. Look-as Harry Truman put it, 'If you don't like the heat stay out of the kitchen,'" as if Axelrod was complaining about not being able to handle these things. :eyes:
