Will Olbermann retract last night's Special Comment?
Well, will he at least say positive things about Obama accepting McChrystal's resignation, which Keith said he shouldn't do last night?

1. Its cable "news"
What they say from day to day doesn't matter to them.

2. True...
but Keith usually issues "corrections" when he's wrong. And of course this was just an opinion-not a fact-but if he changes his tune tonight, he should at least acknowledge his change of position.

3. Why should anyone ever retract their opinion?
Olbermann made good points for Obama to keep McChrystal.

Obama had good reasons to let him go.

It was a tough call either way.

4. "Well, will he at least say positive things about Obama accepting McChrystal's resignation..."
Just a question. And I agree he made some good points last night.

20. +1 for a proper response.
Unless he made some sort of factual error, there is no reason for retraction.

5. I think Olberman did him a favor last night.
Kind of had his back in a way. Maybe he didn't want to see the poor guy get skewered either way because of a loud mouthed general.

And if he does, does it matter? If he doesn't, does it matter?

8. There is no need for him too...
...Keith, I think, was being a bit too nuanced. He was trying to play his own brand of "three dimensional chess" with his commentary.

I disagreed with him because - to me - the military is subordinate to civil authority. Well, at least in theory. That theory is all we have left in controlling the Pentagon.

Obama had no choice.

9. It matters not one way or the other
What he will say is whatever he thinks will get himself the most ratings and attention. Like every night.

23. Yesterday I read him say that Jon Stewart is just like
Beck and Limbaugh, after laughs and attention. Which of course denigrates Stewart while using Limbaugh's own defense that he is just an entertainer.

10. I don't know why he should when he
didn't with his over the top expression of total disdain after the oil spill speech. This one to me is way milder and at least was not delivered with disgust.

16. He had a right to say it any way he wanted
and it's silly to expect him to "take back" an opinion. He's allowed to modify an opinion or accept what has happened, even if he advised against it, without having to apologize or wear a hair shirt.

18. And I have a right to an opinion of how
it was stated. Please re-read my post, I have no argument with you about whether KO should apologize over this. You really need to calm down and stop with your ranting misinterpretations.

12. I think his special comment
was more of an excuse to continue to blast Bush and his lame decisions than to coerce Obama to do anything.

13. No
his special comment was a continuation of telling the POTUS how to do his job. I rather that he apologize to dramatics after the Oval office speech then his special comment yesterday.

17. Yeah, and NOBODY on DU EVER tries to tell the POTUS how to do his job.
We all just keep our mouths shut about that...look at how we never tried to tell Bush what to do. (I trust the smilie here isn't necessary)

22. Yes
it was "MORE OF AN EXCUSE" to attack Bush than to tell Obama what to do based on his tepid response to his decision. Or did you miss that?

14. best part of the show tonight....
.... was when he said, "Petraeus, who was responsible for the successful surge in Iraq..." (and then realizing what he'd just said) "well, as successful as it was...."

I dont disagree with him, but the whole moment was funny.

19. i doubt it
I disagree with his comment, but that's no reason for him to retract it.

Regarding whether he will say positive things about Obama's action, who knows. Tune in and find out.

24. Most absurd question ever.
I could say far worse about the notion of altering an opinion to fit the actions of a politician, but I won't. Winston Smith said it all for me already.
