Getting stuff done
...getting no credit for it.

President Barack Obama hailed a decision by the Chinese government over the weekend to allow its currency to fluctuate more freely with market forces.
Obama and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner both welcomed an announcement by China's central bank that it would allow greater exchange rate flexibility for the yuan, which is pegged against the value of the U.S. dollar.

"China’s decision to increase the flexibility of its exchange rate is a constructive step that can help safeguard the recovery and contribute to a more balanced global economy," Obama said in a statement. "I look forward to discussing these and other issues at the G-20 Summit in Toronto next weekend."

This will help our economy.

1. And how did Obama get this done?
He didn't do anything to bring this about, it was the Chinese who made this decision.

8. Ever hear of diplomacy?
Edited on Sun Jun-20-10 07:08 PM by DFLforever
That's how it's done, via Treasury and State. The Chinese manipulation of their currency has been a sore point with this administration since day one and the topic featured prominently in Geithner's confirmation hearings. Do you actually think the Chinese would make these concessions unless they were pressed?

Perhaps you'll be happy to learn the Chinese are today backing away from the decision.

4. He makes an announcement and he should get credit?
How do you credit him with an action by the Chinese government? It would be nice to read your thinking on that.

6. no wonder Obama never gets credit and is reviled by our media
the press sees that there will be nothing but support for them if they trash this president by our so called progressives.
the reason they pay fealty to the gop is because they know there will be a collective and unified push back if they go after a repub.
That cannot be said of our side. usually they can trash all they want and the progressives will cheer them on.

7. Except the media ignores the left and exalts the Reich
See Tea Klux Klan rallies

See anti-war protests

See Wall Street protests

See selective town hall coverage

Translation: Shut the fuck up or the media might use what you say against the party. If something shitty is going down then it must be sucked up for the team. By the by the team says shut the fuck up, we need a contribution of at least $25, get out there and sell our shit that you hate, and shut the fuck up.
