George W. Bush Says He’d Torture Again
Edited on Thu Jun-03-10 09:47 AM by Ian David
Speaking to a business audience in Grand Rapids, Michigan, former President George W. Bush says, yes, his administration waterboarded Khalid Sheik Mohammed, and he’d do it again “to save lives.” (h/t Gawker)

“Yeah, we waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed,” the former president told a business audience in Grand Rapids, Michigan. “I’d do it again to save lives.”

Waterboarding is a simulated drowning technique that the Obama administration has said is torture. Mohammed was captured in Pakistan in 2003 and is the most senior al-Qaida operative in US custody.

Waterboarding has been proven to be ineffective. It’s also been shown that torture is not what helped gain information from Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

4. Of course, if he admitted it was wrong, that would open up a can of worms, wouldn't it?

5. What lives did it save? There was most likely false intelligence gathered from it.
It did not deter other terrorists. It just made us look bad in the eyes of the rest of the world. And of course Bush would allow it, he wasn't in control of the WH most of the time anyway.

6. He knows he would get away with it, again
Because nobody has to answer to anything from the last eight years, history is doomed to repeat itself. Because the Democrats refuse to hold them accountable, Bush/Cheney behavior is now the baseline for the next GOP administration.

9. I am not a religous person...however,
I do feel we continue on after our bodies die and he certainly will have to deal with the Karma involved. Of course he would say he would do it again... if he said otherwise would be admitting that he was wrong.
