biggest differences between war in Iraq and war in Afghanistan
the people who attacked the US on 9/11 were trained in Afghanistan (even if none were Afghans). All were protected by the Taliban, trained with them. Still being protected by these same people is OBL, who was behind 9/11. I don't care if he was once on the CIA payroll during the 80's fighting the Soviets. He, like many others was in it for the money, we gave it to whomever opposed the Soviets, no matter what.

OBL, the Taliban and Al-qaeda are a menace. We might not be able to completely root them out, but hopefully we will diminish them to the point that they are no longer a threat.
I would love to see OBL put in a nice small cell, with one window, where he will spend 24 hours day for the rest of his life, locked away.

I hope that by putting these troops in Afghanistan (where they should have been long ago, if it wasn't for * stupid Iraq war) we can do what I stated above.

I cheer Obama for making this tough decision.

1. "people who attacked the US on 9/11 were trained in Afghanistan"
Some were trained in Florida, which may ring a bell as a state which, every two years, has as many drunk driving fatalities as 9/11 fatalities.

I fully agree with occupying Florida. Liberate the porpoises.

2. My multiple personalities are split about 60/40 on this.

I'm going to trust Obama for a bit.

Of course, I really didn't think bush would lie to us about WMDs, mushroom clouds, etc. Then, came Abu Ghraib; no WMDs; lots of dead innocent Iraqis; damage to our reputation; etc.

I hope to hell he's right. I hope he ties up the loose ends quickly without major casualties on our side (or to the extent innocents, their side).

Just went to 59/41.

How to buy box cutters? It wasn't how to fly a plane. I know we've all seen the awesome jungle gym training video.
