Hawaii Gov. Lingle answers the birthers, who remain surprisingly unconvinced

Via Joe Kovacs, we have a fresh answer to the birthers from Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle (R), given to -- of all people -- former Michael Jackson confidante Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. The comments come around 77 minutes into this interview, after Boteach asks Lingle about legislation that would protect state employees from having to answer the endless questions about President Obama's birth certificate.

You know, during the campaign of 2008, I was actually in the mainland campaigning for Sen. McCain. This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it's one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country. And so I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi'olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that's just a fact. And yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue. And I think it's, again, a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this. ... It's been established. He was born here.

Follow the WorldNetDaily link up top for tortured explanations of how this can't be right, including disbelief that a letter from Obama to his birth hospital is full of lies.

2. Yeah, even if you're a republicon governor..
you wouldn't want to be coy about whether Obama was born in Hawai'i or not since he was.

There is rightfully much pride in the President being born on Oahu on August 4, 1961 at 7:24pmB-)

And, the willful ignorance of birfers won't take that away.

And, Hawai'i voted a measure to not take birther calls.

Hopefully, lingle won't veto it.

3. Personally, if I was a government official I would encourage more people to obtain the records.
I would have legislation enacted to provide a special certification of proof with an additional $30 or $50 fee on top of the usual fees. Make money for the state any way they can.

But, I also believe that in some states they do not permit an individual to obtain such documents unless they are a relative or other permissible individual.

8. Y'know I just had to pay $22.00 to order the state copy-Despite the fact I have the ORIGIONAL???
I am applying for SSI & one of the documents needed is a birth certificate. No problem, I actually have the origional. Has my footie prints & my Mom/Dad have thier thumbprints & a notary stamp.

Nope-Not good enough for them. I had to order a COPY-The ones the friggin birthers don't want to accept BTW-And frankly it was waaaay to easy to obtain.

So fudge nuts to anyone who wants the whole world to show us yer paperzs please...It's a knee jerk reaction.

Lady on the phone told me it was due to 9/11!...Wrong lady-it's because Republicans want to make more money. Can't figure why she hung up on me.
