Wind, baby, wind!
The Obama administration will support the development of an offshore wind farm off the coast of Cape Cod, an energy system that would be the first of its kind in the United States, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Wednesday.

The Interior Department says the Cape Wind project would be able to power 75 percent of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Island and would create hundreds of construction jobs in a new “green” industry.

“The public benefits weigh in favor of approving the Cape Wind project at the Horseshoe Shoal location,” Salazar said in Boston, adding he was confident the project would withstand any likely legal challenges.

In a conference call with reporters and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, a Democrat who also supports the project, Salazar, a former Democratic senator from Colorado, said the new wind farm signals a “future where we’ll rely less on foreign oil.”

“If we get clean energy right, the whole world will be our customer,” the governor said.

3. Exactly my point
My power company is town owned. Most towns around me aren't and those people get absolutely shafted on rates.
