Retiring Ark. congressman Marion Berry backing former chief of staff's congressional bid
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Retiring Democratic congressman Marion Berry is endorsing his former chief of staff's bid to claim to his east Arkansas congressional seat.

Chad Causey's campaign said Monday that Berry planned to announce his endorsement of Causey on Wednesday. Berry, who has served in Congress since 1997, planned to announce the endorsement at a series of events in Stuttgart, Lonoke, West Memphis and Jonesboro.

Berry announced in January that he would not seek re-election to Congress and would retire at the end of his term.

Causey is one of six candidates seeking the nomination for Berry's seat. Two Republicans are running for the GOP nomination for his post.
