In case you still think Republicans are decent people.
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/va-legislator-disabled-children-are-gods-punishment-women-whove-had-abortions

Last week we noted how Pat Robertson, Jonathan Falwell, and other right-wing activists in Virginia are targeting Gov. Bob McDonnell and other top elected officials to cut off any state funding for Planned Parenthood.

During a press conference unveiling the effort last week, a state legislator declared that God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children later:
...

Let see. If a Democrat had uttered something like that, how long before any responsible Democrat had denounced him. Did any GOPer from VA denounce this *hole, starting by the VA governor and House minority whip Cantor? Not holding my breath on this.

7. Nothing. God just hates kids and women, according to Falwell and Robertson.
Which begs the question, "why do they worship such a horrible God?"

11. I am pretty much convinced the "god of Abraham" is actually a DEMON, lol.
Seriously. Why else would he arrange for his own "son", that rather cool dude named Jesus, to be crucified? One sick mofo IMHO.

9. That must mean that Palin had an abortion.
Trig is her punishment for having one.

6. People here in VA were idiots to think that McDonnell would run the state in a moderate manner.
He ran as a moderate and fooled a lot of people. Or just perhaps, Creigh Deeds was a poor candidate for our side to put up?

McDonnell is now targeting same sex couples and some of the state regulations that recognize them. He's on a religious right wing tear. The only bright spot is that a VA Governor can only serve one term. Thank Heavens!

8. I am amazed and a little horrified at the amount of hatred I have in me for Republicans.
I simply cannot stomach their bigotry and hypocrisy.

There, I said it.
Now I feel better.

10. Not all of them
The Republicans that voted for him knew him for what he was, it was the independent voters who bought into the BS he was selling.

Deeds wasn't the greatest candidate, but I think that if Wilder had endorsed him it might have made a difference. Instead Wilder was more concerned with Deeds stand on gun control and taxes, instead of McDonnell's real agenda.

So the only idiots were the independent voters that supported McDonnell and the Democrats who didn't vote at all.

3. Hey, if I can turn some to our side, I will.
The vast majority of my extended family are republicans. I won't disown them albeit I believe some, in particular, have to stop watching that bat shit crazy Glenn Beck.

Anyone who's related to a "thoughtful relative" who happens to vote GOP knows that their BIGGEST sin is being intellectually incurious and ideologically stubborn.

However, deep down, I would bet good money, IF THEY WOULD EMBRACE THE TRUTH, they'd be democrats.

Perhaps it's me rationalizing but not all republicans are "vile." I refuse to believe that.

13. My BIL's mom is the only true RWer in my family (other than the ones I haven't seen in
25 years). A few years ago, when she surprised us by saying America was a "christian nation" we all had to pick our jaws up off the floor, and then every last one of us told her what made her W R O N G. She leans a little fundie, and obviously listens to Faux. She's 77 now, so I don't let it bother me. She's broken in a way that isn't worth trying to fix at this late date.

12. It's not ALL Republicans....
There are at least 10-15 decent Republicans in the US. It's a matter of odds.

:hi:
