Do you remember the Nixon-Kennedy debate on TV? I do. Since my parents were Repubs (still are!) we kids played a game where we screamed and put pillows over our faces when Kennedy would be on screen, and would cheer when Nixon came on. What did we know--we were eight and six years old.

On a side note, the first awareness I ever had as a child of the presidency was the day that Nixon resigned. Both parents (conservatives) were extremely somber and I asked why. Mom said that the president had lied which struck me very hard emotionally.
