WASHINGTON – Is an apology that’s not said out loud really an apology? What if the person expressing the apology doesn’t draw attention to it?

Those are questions that some tribal citizens are asking upon learning that President Barack Obama signed off on the Native American Apology Resolution Dec. 19 as part of a defense appropriations spending bill.

4. Just goes to show what a horrible person Obama is!
Can't he do anything right? He's just as bad as Bush.

Offering an apology that no president has ever done should be a good thing but no, Obama is so awful it is a bad thing.

(I tell you, you can't make this shit up. You ppl will find anyway to trash Obama possible. Where the fuck are the moderators on this web site? It has become the "Hate Obama" site of the web. Congrats Skinner. You now own the most anti dem web site in existence.)

7. So Obama is not bringing attention to an apology to
Edited on Thu Jan-14-10 09:53 PM by rebel with a cause
the American Indian that he is the only president to ever make. How dare him. I mean he has nothing else to do right now. It is not like there was an earthquake in Haiti, a failed terrorist attack, legislation that needs to be taken care of, and a lot of other things on his plate. It is not like there are people on the right and left criticizing him for everything whether it is true or not.

I am usually on the American Indian side in the argument about what has been done to them, but in this instance they need to show a little patience because this president is trying to do what is right toward them. That he may be sidetracked right at this moment should be given consideration. A consideration that a lot of others should be giving but who are so busy throwing stones that they don't realize they need to be using those stones to build a foundation for a new beginning.

Not sure how many Canadians heard Harper's deal to the First Nations back in June of 2008- though it surely was on Canadian media.

Something of a strange story, all things considered.
