1. I don't know how he's holding up.
I'm sure he just wants to go home and just sit and be introspective.

2. I agree. Do you know if he had the meeting with the Iraqis today? Edit:

Politico had UPDATE Meeting scheduled for Thursday, not Wednesday.

It doesn't say if it was re-scheduled or if they'd just been given incorrect info initially. And I'm not sure if he's meeting with the Iraqis or if the meeting is about Iraq:

Upon his return, the Vice President is expected to lead a series of Principals meetings beginning Thursday focused on Iraq. With an eye on Iraqi national elections scheduled for March, the meetings are designed to ensure that all components of the U.S. government are coordinated in carrying through on the mission of ending the U.S. combat mission there, and transiting the U.S.-Iraq relationship to more normalized one. snip

The Iraq meetings Biden will lead, in the White House situation room, are expected to occur on a monthly basis.

This was printed yesterday before Haiti -- not sure if that will affect it.

Another article said he's going to New Orleans on Friday.

3. Do you think
it's a little weird that the VP is heading these meetings? I mean, we KNOW that Biden knows these people very well, but ....
Wonder if Obama will even be in the room.

New Orleans? Interesting.

"Mark my words" Biden is going to be known as more influential than the last VP (who shall remain nameless). I hope in this case that will be a good thing.

4. If I were Obama I'd turn it all over to Biden, too. I'm sure there will be others
participating who can be additional sounding boards, but what could Obama possibly accomplish that Biden can't? His presence might even be a hinderance.

Besides, Iraq isn't in the headlines anymore. :7

Agree -- I think Biden will become known as the most influential VP (as opposed to puppet master) who did GOOD.

5. Agreed
Now that the media has moved past the "gaffe" crap (except for FOX of course), I think Biden will redefine the Vice President's role.

7. That was probably the perfect way to handle it -- Have the expert (Joe) do the
heavy lifting, have Mr. Prez come by to show they take this very seriously. Thanks for posting this!
