Knitters: Favorite Needle Brand/Material?
I'll admit that I'm addicted to Addi Turbos for most things, except for super slippy/delicate things, for which I'll use a bamboo needle. I have the Bates interchangeable set, but the burrs on some of them drive me insane.

And other than Dpns, I always use circs. Although I do have Cat Bordhi's circular sock method book, and hope to try that one of these days. :)

You? :hi:

1. Knit Picks' Options
Lovely cables that are soft and don't hold a curl, slick needle tips for the yarns than need them, wooden ones for the slippery yarns. Come in all sizes of circular (both fixed for the smaller sizes and interchangeable...which you can buy separately by size) and double pointeds.

2. i've tried them all

but my favorite is probably the knitpicks metal circs. i also have the harmony wood set which is nice too.

the denise is good for the fact that the tips are easy to release and don't take a tool to do so (good for people with arthritis). i don't really like that they're plastic tho, but they have their uses. i prefer them for the slippery yarns. the tips aren't too sharp.

the bates circs were the first ones i ever purchased and they are awful! the burrs really are bad, so i never use them. also, the cords are not flexible.

i bought some cheesy bamboo circs on ebay, but they were a total waste of money because the cords tend to come off the tips as they aren't attached tightly.

i have one set of addis for socks. i like them but the convenience of changing the the KP tips makes them the winners for me.

jmho...

3. I love my Denises, and I usually just use the Clover bamboo dpns.
I almost bought some Addis yesterday, but I restrained myself.

4. KnitPicks--both Options and Harmonies.
They're my faves after much testing. I still love my Bryspuns, my ebonies, my Crystal Palace, and my Inox needles, and they're needed for some yarns. Still, if I were going to start over, I'd invest in the KP needles and then slightly branch out from there.

5. Mmmmm, my Lantern Moon Rosewood straights, size 8.
They have their own silk case to live in. They're just about all I knit with these days. I would love to have more of them, but they're so damn expensive. I should really treat myself to another pair.

Right behind them are my Brittany five-inch dpns for socks, sizes 0, 1, 2, and 3. I like the five-inch length because they fit my hands better. That and Brittany sent me three replacements once when I broke one--great customer service.
