In keeping with their name, information they posted online reflects a strategy of violent religious confrontation. The Hutaree believe that violence will bring about the final judgment prophesied in the Bible. They armed themselves to go to war with the Antichrist, "evil Jews," and Muslims, until the FBI conducted a series of raids in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. The name "Hutaree" appears to be a neologism; the group's web site says that it means "Christian warriors".

I had thought maybe it was a variant of the name Hutterite which is a Christian sect similar to the Amish or Mennonites but neither of those groups are militant or violent
I also wondered if they were an offshoot of a Christian group from the '70's called The One Way back then a room mate of mine hooked up with went to some retreat in Ohio and was never heard from again her parents hired a PI to find her with little luck it came out later that their camp was a para-military enclave

thinking that if they killed one there would be a funeral, where they could kill more
