The return of OS

I want to thank everyone for the good vibes sent my way while I was gone the last few days. I won't know how bad I hurt my shoulder until after I see the specialist Monday. This is the third time I've had problems with my shoulder since my initial operation in March of 08.

I'm typing slow. Hope nobody minds.

OS

3. Reminded me of an old Charlie Callas joke.
Done in a French accent: "My darling Fifi...I am writing this letter to you....very slowly...because I know....you cannot read....too fast." Get better soon.

4. Great to have you back! Stay conscious of straining fingers, wrists, arms, back...
abdomen and even legs and feet, while typing, and do some breathing and little muscle exercises every once in a while. It works! It doesn't take much. FEEL how your body feels and think it through. I cured carpal tunnel by switching mouse hands. After a week it was easy. (I'm now ambidextrous.) Just letting myself really feel the strain on one hand (wrist, arm) and thinking: what could I do? The answer came to me. First REST the injured area--of course. But then, how do various parts of you REALLY feel in this unnatural act of too much typing and how to slightly alter things, on a regular basis, for less strain (and for balanced strength in all muscles). I don't know how you got your shoulder injury, but do be careful and thoughtful about it leading to further strain. You CAN prevent it. And you can heal the injury. I've cured c/t and another injury by just, 1) feel (really feel), 2) think (toward gentle, positive, small changes), taught in yoga. And breathe! But anybody can do it. You don't have to take yoga. It's VERY simple. Amazingly simple. Probably no doctor will tell you this. Well, doctors have gotten better about physical therapy and self-help. But they don't trust, or act like they trust, the body's very real, inherent intelligence and ability to provide you with the cure. It's not instantaneous like pain-killers, but it does work and it's better in the long run.

Be well! I love your posts and look forward to more! And now I'm going to go take my own advice--a bit of a break, breathing and small exercises.
