If you think the estate tax is a good way to fight unemployment then I have some excellent beachfront property in North Dakota for you.

Even thought the Republicans and their 'liberal' media allies talk like it does, people getting more money when their Monopoly Guy uncle dies has no effect on unemployment at all. Surprised?

Acquired from the Department of Labor and stats on the estate tax rates

(This also does not factor in the fact that the exemption amount has gone up as well, making the 'estate tax cut creates jobs' meme even more headless)

Let's all get a REAL inheritance that is actually worth something by letting the estate tax die a quick death.

4. Who is saying the estate tax cut creates jobs?
Edited on Sat Dec-11-10 02:23 PM by dkf
That was what we gave so that we could get things like unemployment extensions which help us to sustain this economy.

But if we do cut it in this tax package it will look like it correlated because of all that other stuff in there.
