One of the most disturbing lines was when the lead singer got a death threat in 2006 and they were discussing how the guy might smuggle a gun into the concert. One of the members said that if she were an assassin she would hide it in her crotch because, "nobody's doing to grab your crotch to check for a gun"...........

1. $70 will buy you a metal detecting wand - no crotch grabbing needed.
...unless there was another point you were trying to make?

5. Only the statement that nobody would grab a crotch for security. I think TSA has shown otherwise.

I love the Dixie Chicks! Wish more entertainers had their courage.

4. I became a fan when Bush tried to destroy their careers. A measure that is obviously unsuccessful

Anyone who has not seen it, should definitely watch it. I remember being shocked at what happened to them. This government, then under Bush, is ruthless when it comes to anyone interfering with the war machine, even a comment as benign as was made back then. It was definitely a warning for all of us. They lost their careers and might never have been heard from again, except that Liberals went out an bought their CDs, and they got support from all over the world, much like what is happening with Julian Assange today.

Can't imagine why anyone would unrec this. I rec'd it anyhow, they are an excellent example of how when someone stands up against the powerful, scared as they were, it makes it that more difficult for them to completely silence the public. Glad to have been a part of the movement to stand up against that tyranny back then.
