The role of Democratic Bad Ass will be played by a woman . . . . .
. . . . Nancy Pelosi.

Now essentially powerless, she will be the mouthpiece of the left, providing the needed appearance that hope and change remain possible.

I support this because it is the closest we will ever come to actually getting hope and change.

2. She can help stop Obama's Catfood Commission Agenda

At least Pelosi and the Democrats can block Obama's attacks on working America as he works with the Republicans. At least I sure hope so.

6. I truly believe that she just doesn't take it personally.
If you don't take insults personally, then there's not much they can throw at you by name-calling.

7. Yeah ...
I agree, she clearly is not put off by it ...

I think it is more about the democratic "brand" than anything ... Helps to stoke their mysoginistic BS, too, in hand with the race baiting with the president ...

5. the more time goes by
the more i love her.

though as another poster mentioned, i'm still pissed that she declared impeachment off the table. we should have impeached gw and cheney. we really should have done that.

8. My take on it is that she weighed the pros and cons of impeachment and
figured out that she would spend a lot of time fighting and wind up losing, when she could devote herself to more productive fighting and winning...we are down to brass tacks now with economic issues that crucially affect ordinary Americans lives.

I think LOTS of Americans know that bush and cheney were guilty, but in our system you really can't get blood from a stone...

11. I tend to agree. We were already in crisis mode and that would have
stymied more productive action.

I'm disappointed, but I think she was looking forward, not back.

9. Your post implies it should be played by a man
Edited on Thu Dec-02-10 09:18 AM by Still a Democrat
The man won't do the tough stuff, so a woman is forced to do so, when she really shouldn't?

BTW, Pelosi hasn't said anything Obama hasn't, and she'll be involved in compromising and negotiating as well. She never said she wouldn't look to cut a deal.

13. You don't know our clown well, do you? He's as unmisogynistic
as you'll find on this board.

He was using irony to make a point, get it?
