Mike Huckabee To Obama: Have TSA Pat Down FIRST FAMILY!
<>

" Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Fox News personality, has dared President Obama to motorcade to Washington Reagan National Airport with the First Family and have the Obamas submit to one of those very controversial airport pat-down inspection.

Huckabee made his interesting suggestion on Fox and Friends. Huckabee apparently believes that profiling would be a better way to go.

National Journal reports:

" If he thinks this is an appropriate way for us to deal with security as he has defended, then I've said, 'OK, Mr. Obama, take your wife, your two daughters and your mother-in-law to Washington Reagan National Airport and have them publicly go through both the body scanner and the full enhanced pat-down in front of others,'" Huckabee said in an interview on Fox and Friends. "'If it's OK for your wife, your daughters, and your mother-in-law, then maybe the rest of us won't feel so bad when our wives, our daughters and our mothers are being put through this humiliating and degrading, totally unconstitutional, intrusion of their privacy.'"

1. If Obama thinks these procedures are necessary, why
shouldn't he and his family experience what they are like? After all, what's good for the goose should be good for the gander.

If it's necessary then why shouldn't everyone go through it?

12. Same here.
If it's not traumatizing or disgusting or invasive, it shouldn't be a problem for him to have his family set the example, just like they are trying to do with their vegetable garden. Lead the way.

14. but I dont
and I have every right to say no
people are "outraged" about something thats so simple
and acting like "their rights" are being violated when in fact,
thay are not

I choose not to fly for a veriety of reasons and the new rules only reinforce them

40. yes, they are. a person has a job that requires flying. they dont have option
if you are so black and white, limited in your thinking how people are NOT forced, then you are along with the person that puts hand to ear and chants, to avoid not hearing.

Given his penchant for setting free so many murderers and rapists during his tenure in Arkansas.

22. Oh, snap
How ironic is that.

I'm so sick of this discussion. People are flocking like flies to (Republican) sandpaper with all this outrage. I can see why Limbaugh, Huckabee and all are doing it: it's their job to jump on anything emanating from the government at the moment. But all this false modesty from a bunch of progressives is embarrassing. Nobody minded waiting in lines to go through a metal detector, have their undies rifled through in front of other passengers, or to have a pat down. All of this has been going on for nine full years. But oh my gosh, a scanner! My guess is 85% of those complaining loudest rarely even fly.

28. When this place start to agree with a man...
That wants to destroy Obama and even said that a preexisting condition should be a reason that health insurance companies should demy people, this place is going to hell on a handbasket.... The repubs are taking advantage of this issue against Obama.... They don't give a shit about your 4th amendment rights.... Hell, they probably want to get rid of the 4 amendment... If Bush was president they would be defending the pat downs... People here are playing right into their hands and the repubs are loving every minute of it.

I don't always agree with Chris Matthews but he made a good argument last night at the end of his show in favor of the pat downs. More importantly, he asked everyone to put themselves in the shoes of President Obama. What would happen if we did not have the TSA policies in place and we got attacked? Obama would be demolished in the media and would be called weak on defending the people against terrorism. Plus, we don't get the intelligence Obama gets everyday.

If he said something like they should go through the procedure at the White House, I may agree with Huckabee, except for the kids.

38. So do I - the girls should be subject to the pat-down as well.
If our children are subject to it why shouldn't their kids have to go through it?

This is going to provide myriad ads for Huckabee/Romney/Palin in 2012. Obama is just asking to lose this election.

33. That seems to be the wingnut talking point. Rush Limbaugh said it, so of course...
the other Republicans and networks have to follow suit and repeat the same thing.

These people are disgusting! Simply disgusting!

And remember: they have absolutely NO problem with racial profiling.

34. Dumb!
The security around a First Family is already an order of magnitude greater than anything an airport can do. So, the threat to the airplane from anybody boarding it is insignificant.

Huckabee is simply making a statement in search of a point.
