I am sure the more they hear about airline restrictions and warantless wiretaps and the extension of the patriot act the more they think 9/11 was a great idea.

People getting hassled while traveling must make them smile. People hating air travel must make them think it was worth it. People getting arrested for taking photographs of public buildings being hassled and arrested must make them think "they won".

How many explanations of over reaction by the Police/FBI/TSA/CIA comes down to one answer......"9/11"??

They succeeded in changing our way of life and that was the whole point. And I am sure they celebrate it as a victory over the USA.

What a shame.

1. The so-called 'war' on terror has been a boon for al Qaida
which is one of the reasons I think it should be ended.

4. exactly
it has been a boon for pretty much the same set of people: the Military / Security complex and extremist gangs like al Qaida.

3. But, who wanted us so afraid?
Cheney and his neocons; or bin Laden and his al Qaeda?

The answer seems to be BOTH. And for exactly the same reason. So that they could control the behavior of the American people. Perhaps for different political motivations, but radical conservatives (whether they are neocons or al Qaeda) are both friends of fear.

And if Cheny is the friend of bin Laden's friend...radical fundamentalist control of the world is very confusing.

5. I've always wondered: If " 9/11 changed everything"...doesn't that mean Osama WON?

So... we get rid of our freedoms.

Problem solved.

7. Do you still believe the story about 19 with box cutters
from Saudi Arabia planned and executed this massive cultural change? When a crime is committed the beneficiaries and motives must be examined in-depth. That aspect was always pretty much glossed over.

There have been too many other major beneficiaries who have profited. Chertoff is a fine example.

8. Exactly, the US played right into their hands. I think they

celebrate it as a victory too. And the US after all of these years can't even find one person. Now the US has a another money maker for some, like the war on drugs, war on this or that... that never end, and rakes in money for some. It's all about greed by some ... too many profits for any of this to be solved. It's a consistent pattern.
