1. Mega. I'm not sure he'll look back on this decision in a good way, especially considering how long
that went on for.

3. He was out of his element and not working in his form.
He (or someone) should have remembered that he's a comedian and that less is always, always more.

10. Very. I agree,
I was stunned.

It's like he had his "Dennis Miller" moment tonight, right in front of everyone.

My jaw fell open and I could not believe what I was hearing.

It was a great interview. Jon said things I agreed with and disagreed with.
Am i shocked and surprised by DU's reaction though? Nope, not at all.

8. stop trying to be thoughtful, Jon, and go and put your clown costume back on.
If we want to listen to adults, and not comedians, we'll listen to adults, not you.

11. I haven't seen it yet, but the fact that he did what he did in the first
place, removed him from his status as just a comedian and placed him right in the middle of the MSM. Which is ironic, as he likes to think of himself as being outside the mainstream.

I thought he was going to acknowledge his mistake, I assume from the reaction, that he did not.

13. Jon found himself in the same position Oprah did
Pretty much everyone "knew" that Oprah was a "liberal", but her shows were always generic..until she overtly supported Obama. She felt the white-hot hate sent her way from the right wingers, and once she had crossed that line, she could never again "play fair"..

Instead of embracing it and going all in, during the rest of her show's life, she backed it up, and is back to schmaltz, make-overs & celebutante worship.

Jon is a bit like her, in this respect (Charlie:P..).. He's made a very good living straddling that fence. To be sure, he pokes more "fun" at republicans (who doesn't?), but he is an equal-opportunity when it comes to pointing out "teh stooopid".
We all know he's liberal, but he always kept up the appearance of being even-handed.

Since most of his true fans are liberal, we were all right there for him for 8 long years of Bush-antics, but we also tend to take it personally when he picks on Obama now. He probably wished we would all calm down, but he also should surely know that since there are so FEW left-leaning voices out there, we do hope the ones we do have, would be a bit nicer....and we do get angry when right wing haters get away with being racist, xenophobic nincompoops.

14. I don't have a problem when he pokes Obama
Because he does it from the point of truth. He did no less during the Bush years.

I didn't see the rally or the interview, but it sounds like he sold himself out of that spot of truth I so admire?

16. DUs problem is not that he pokes at Obama
its that he isn't a frothing at the mouth, useless, all liberals are 100% correct, type of guy. Nuance, thoughtfulness and cooperation are almost as hated here as they are hated by the RW.

So he isn't this left-wing attack show you prayed for...He still has a good COMEDY show.

But the stoner wing of the Democratic Party seems to like him. Got any munchies. But then I'm not a TV guy. Never watched SNL either.

Ignorance is OK as long as you have an opinion about everything.
