1. It's a sad commentary. They always want to "look forward" or "move on" if it's a member of The Club
Edited on Tue Nov-09-10 07:04 AM by ixion
Otherwise, if it's one of, say, We, the People, not only do they relish looking backward, once you've been chosen to be tossed into the grist mill, they never let you leave.

See, it's okay to be a lying thug war criminal. But if you smoke a joint or forget to file some meaningless piece of paperwork, or do any of a number of such menial things, it's your ass.

3. I think Bush's exposure brings up his crimes and reminds us
Edited on Tue Nov-09-10 07:08 AM by lunatica
The questions he's being asked are things that remind us of what a bad president he was. If he weren't out there touting his book and mugging for the cameras no one would be talking about Katrina or the WMD hoax or the crimes against humanity.

I personally am very glad to see his face harden about what Kanye West said. Because at the time he didn't give a fuck what anyone said. His interview with Matt Lauer made Lawrence O'Donnell invite Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame on his show to talk about Scooter Libby's commutation. Joe Wilson was able to refute what Bush said.

This country needs a reminder of the disasters that George W. Bush created in this country. We may never recover from his administration.

4. The intelligence was cooked to meet their plans. Never forget it.
We have all the evidence, and more leaks out all the time. The neocons and the MEdia keep pushing the "systemic breakdown" for not finding WMD. No. They knew it all along, and pretend now they didn't know. It is their pattern for everything.

We cannot know where we are going unless we know where we have been.

7. This is damage control by the Bush family
Edited on Tue Nov-09-10 07:37 AM by CoffeeCat
They feel that if they can at least put forth a George PR
blitz, that maybe some of the searing, white-hot hatred will
be cooled.

Boy are they idiots.

Yeah, we know you want one of your other sons to be President someday.
However, there are just some things that no amount of marketing can
heal.

Seriously. I used to think that the Bush family was so clever and
cunning. If they're myopic enough to believe that George Bush
can rehabilitate *himself*, then their dynasty is over.

Have they heard their boy speak? Really???

They should have kept George stowed in the closet and focused on the
family members that they want to leverage. Seriously.

This is like someone bringing up the decaying Titanic, touring it
around the country and telling everyone what a great ship it really was.

No really!

8. This is for Jeb
Mark my words, Jeb and his sidekick Rubio are going to make a run in 2012, especially since many old school GOP members will see him as the only hope against the Tea Party, who they cannot control.

16. The media is banking on the fact that Americans lack short-term memories.
But that wont ever happen, not a chance in hell.

11. Exactly!
After a couple years of laying low, he thinks we're going to fucking FORGET? Oh hell no. Uh Uh.

He doesn't get to come out and play now with no consequences. I'll fight any kind of legitimizing of this fucker. I don't care about his book, I don't care about his opinions, the very best I wish for him is prison. For life.

12. Not only will they, it's half done.
If the electorate weren't short on attention span and weren't bemused by shiny objects, how do you think we keep electing republicans to office. In two years w will be a saintly ex president who did wonderful things. They did it for nixon.
