Thanks to Republicans, Oklahoma is now safe from having Sharia law imposed on it.

Whew! Imagine my relief. My aunt lives in OKC and I've been really worried about her.

7. unfortunately...
Of course the real reason for this was for future elections. Remember who saved you all from sharia law!?! My opponent voted AGAINST the bill! Why is he trying to impose sharia law on us!?

10. Safe from any foreign "laws"
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 09:08 PM by walldude
Thats what the prop said. So I wonder how they are going to reconcile that new law with the other new law that the 10 Commandments will be posted at the State Capitol. You know those 10 commandments that were written 2000 years before America was a country...

I laugh but the depths of ignorance displayed by the powers that be is not really that funny.

14. Reality check: the Bible is in English... that makes it American, just like the 10 Commandments.
Of course I'm talking about the separate reality conservatives live in, but why nitpick?

11. Since it limits International and Sharia law only...
That means Hindu law, Halakha (Jewish religious law), Bahá'í law are all valid.

12. I welcome their late concern for the separation of church and state
Those of us who opposed mixing of religion and the law welcome their support, however tardy.

13. A New Jersey judge denied a restraining order to a Muslim woman
after she had been repeatedly raped by her husband. Marital rape is permitted under Sharia law.

What is your point? Are you saying NJ is already operating under Sharia law?

16. Yes, and he was promptly overturned by an Appeals Court.
Having an idiot judge is not an excuse for getting paranoid about Sharia law.
