I am wondering if this was planned by MSNBC to open up pandora's box on FOX?

The way Rachel seemed to support the decision makes me wonder if they knew this would create a fire storm and guess who is coming to Keith's side big time? Everyone over at FOX! MSNBC has drawn all the snakes out of their holes! Now I suspect for the next week the news will be shining a light not on Keith but how FOX is not really news at all but part of the Republican party. I also suspect Keith will be back in a day or two and things will be cool.

Then again, if the spotlight is not moved over to FOX and stays on Keith or if Keith is fired, I will be pissed off and never watch MSNBC again. I kind of get the feeling this was planned to make FOX look bad. I just hope I am not wrong.

3. Doesn't GE OWN MSNBC?

If so I don't trust them as far as I can rebuild the Taj Mahal with cat turds and paper clips.

7. I agree with you. I think it's just bonehead stupidity
and Phil Griffin's huge ego. I hope the dipshit hits the ranks of the unemployed in the next few days. Fucking moran.

6. No way..
Sounds like a great plan but there is one major flaw in your argument and that's Politico. There is no way that right wing outfit would be in on such a plot. Although your theory would be the perfect out for Phil Griffin since, at this point, he has gotten himself into a whole heap of snot he surely didn't expect. I think Rachel is so fucking smart she, possibly with the assistance of Keith, just found a way for the douchebags that started this to get themselves out of it. We shall see next week, won't we?

13. Seems I recall KO saying a couple of yrs back that he had never
intended to do this show & he planned to go back to sports broadcasting, as that was his true love. Could this be a vehicle for him to do so w/o pisssing off his followers by leaving of his own volition?
Double treat is the exposure of Foxxxx?

14. I think it's a power play of egos
Olberman knows he's the breadwinner at MSNBC, and he's come to loggerheads with network brass on numerous documented occasions. Even before this gig, he had a reputation of letting his journalistic independance irk those who work the levers.

I caught the first clue from his stand-in tonight when Roberts mentioned how uncomfortable it was to be forced into a power play. I take that as the watercooler scuttlebutt around the studio. I also noticed that suspiciously none of the expected regular floating hosts accepted the seat tonight. Perhaps battlelines were made in a textbook example of a management/worker dispute.

Or maybe not.
