Jesus Fucking Christ. :wtf:

It is really fucked up, and there is no reason for it to be here.

4. If you think about it, does money really do that?
Funny that money would make that claim, typical.

2. If you use Firefox for a browser....
...there's a great extension called "Ad Block". Makes it go away with the click of a mouse. As for why it's there, this site may be free to you, but it isn't to those who make it available for us. It, and the other ads help pay to keep DU online.

7. since you donated you have the option to block the ads here
Or so I understand it. Or you could just block all ads everywhere by using Firefox with Ad Block. I have no idea what ads look like on DU or anywhere else since I've been doing this for years. I have no idea why people allow their computers to be pulluted by ads everywhere they go.

9. AFAIK, numerous DUers have been requesting this for months.

(It was even covered in the 'Questions for the Admins' forum recently.)

Frankly, I'm absolutely dumbfounded as to why this EXTREME pig snuff pic can't be replaced with something less offensive, from the same advertizer. Seems like a no-brainer and for everyone's benefit.

13. DU as a microcosm of politics
Sure you donated. All you little people with your little money. But those who bought the ads, now they pay real serious money and they take precedence over all the little people.

Remind you of anything else in america?

10. I like it.
I like it so much that I'm considering contacting the buyer and sponsoring it here for the next 6 months. If it bothers you, it's an effective ad.

14. A thousand recs, if I could. I know I can use Firefox and hide the ad, but that's difficult...
with my computer set-up. I'm a vegetarian. And it's because I'm so sympathetic to the cause that it sickens me to see the photo with the ad again and again and again and again. The ad was scheduled to go off DU Oct. 31, but was renewed. So it looks like it's here for at least another month.
