Could Pelosi have lost more seats by leaving impeachment ON the table?
Because if her idea was to placate the right-wing and calm them down, guess what?

1. Well, I count 12 seats that we won by 3 points or less.
So there's your answer. How many would we have gained?

2. That was her first and her worst mistake!
I truly believe if, for the last 2 years, we'd had congressional hearings about the war crimes and torture purported by Bush/Cheney, we'd have GAINED more seats! The American people only pay attention to something that's in the news; and if every Democratic candidate could refer to their opponents as being the party of war and torture, the message would've been totally different. Instead, Pelosi cut a backroom deal with someone, and the Corporate Money men won the day. Yay for them, sucks for us.

For that reason alone, I almost don't care that she lost her fucking job. Plenty of people in this country lost theirs too--I'd rather save my sympathy for them!

3. No, she gave up incredible leverage and constantly gave in again and again and again.
She was a catastrophic disappointment as Speaker.

4. I don't know...
Impeachment was never realistic and I think that's partly why she took it off the table. The other reason I think she took it off was because the house couldn't have gotten much accomplished with that going on.

6. We would have had better karma! Bush was a murderer, criminal against humanity.
Most of the world no longer respects us.
