Carly Fiorina hospitalized |TPM
Edited on Tue Oct-26-10 12:38 PM by BootinUp
partial statement from her campaign

Carly learned more than a year and a half ago that she, like millions of women, had breast cancer. After successfully battling cancer, she had reconstructive surgery this summer and remains cancer free today. However, this morning Carly came down with an infection associated with the reconstructive surgery and, as a result, she was admitted to the hospital to receive antibiotics to treat this infection.

1. She's getting treatment that she thinks should be denied to anyone who can't afford it.
Just sayin'.

7. It probably isn't our God-given right to receive post-cancer surgery treatment either.

God help California if this woman gets into power.

2. Here's another mention of her cancer...

It's been quite a while since her surgery; I hope she hasn't relapsed.

I think it's too soon after her surgery to elect a woman who isn't out of the woods yet in her personal battle. Five years is a minimum before someone can be called cancer free.

4. I wish her well physically, but not at the polls.
I wonder if what is going on is just a stunt to get people to vote for her. I have zero trust in her. She destroyed the lives of tens of thousands of her former employees and I wouldnt doubt it if she is lying about her medical condition just to get sympathy votes. She is an evil woman.

9. That was my first thought.
Don't post-surgery infections usually come within a few weeks of the surgery, rather than months later? If she really does have an infection, I hope she is over it soon. If it's a stunt to draw the sympathy vote, I hope it backfires right in her face. As someone whose mother is suffering mightily from complications from her latest bout with breast cancer, I have major issues with those who exploit their illness in an attempt to garner political gain.

13. Thank you.
Sadly, her complications are neurological and irreversible.

11. Not necessarily. My coworker had breast cancer/reconst surgery and had recurring
incidents of cellulitis in the area where the scar tissue was forming. It is very painful.

5. How lovely for her that she can afford to have it taken care of
I'll just wait until I'm lucky enough to have the money to get my medical issues taken care of trickle down to me and hope things don't get critical in the mean time. After all, why should any of us get a handout for medical expenses? It's OUR fault we're sick, right?
