SAN FRANCISCO — Less than 24 hours after the San Francisco Giants clinched the National League championship, fans braved the wet weather to be the first to buy celebratory garb and to stock up on other team clothing before the World Series.
Fans flocked to the Giants Dugout store at AT&T Park on Sunday morning, standing in line for a half-hour in the rain before the shop opened at 9:30 a.m., according to staff members.
Orange-and-black T-shirts sporting the National League champion designs lined the racks, with eager fans snatching up the wares before the World Series against the Texas Rangers kicks off in The City on Wednesday night.
Elinor Lieberman, a San Francisco resident and school teacher who said she and her family have been drooling over the Giants for at least 30 years, said it is about time the store sold World Series paraphernalia again.
“Look at everything they’ve done!” Lieberman said, gesturing to a massive crowd of shoppers before holding up her orange National League championship T-shirt to see if it was the right size. “They just really have to keep their heart in it like they have been. They’re not perfect, but you can tell they love the game.”
Lieberman and her family waited in the crowd to buy their merchandise, standing in a line that wrapped around the shirt racks and stretched throughout the entire store.

Stood in line for two hours yesterday getting World Series Gear yesterday. While waiting talked with most of fans, none of whom had any WS tickets. Most of the fans will probably hang out outside the Stadium, or at a local Sports Bar..
