A Message of Solidarity to the Brothers and Sisters in the U.S. Anti-war Movement
Posted on October 6, 2010 by Committee to Stop FBI Repression

Statement from Iraq Freedom Congress

No matter what we do, we cannot repay our brothers and sisters who have been supporting us for years. We hope that we can make a change.
Love.
Amjad Ali of Iraq Freedom Congress

A message of solidarity to the brothers and sisters in the U.S. anti-war movement

We have been informed of the recent attacks carried out by elements of the FBI on the homes of a number of activists and trade unionists in the anti-war movement in the United States. This action was an effort to contain a fast- growing movement that works to defeat the neo-conservatives who launched two vicious wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and unleashed a cycle of violence and terrorism in the Middle East. These pre-emptive wars have put the world under the mercy of terrorists and made the U.S. itself less secure.

The leaders and activists of our movement have become a worrisome issue to the decision makers and politicians in the U.S. government. The recent attack of the FBI on our leaders is a miserable attempt to re-structure the internal situation in the United States by putting an end to unleashed democracy.

The United States’ strategic position in the world is threatened. The economic crisis has shaken every brick in the foundation built by a handful of venture capitalists and their political representatives in the White House. Fearing collapse of its venture capital government, theObama administration has consistently misled the public about the partial withdrawal from Iraq, its role in the Middle East peace process, the discussions surrounding sanctions or wars against Iran, to name a few.

Undermining and intimidating the anti-war movement is part of a strategy to restore power, important with mid-term elections just around the corner.

As Iraq Freedom Congress is part of the anti-war movement worldwide including the US, it strongly condemns the campaign led by the FBI against the activists of our movement and sees these actions as a sheer violation of democracy and human rights, the very concepts that the White House brags about to the world.

Iraq Freedom Congress declares its unwavering solidarity and support with the leaders and activists of the anti-war movement in the United States and demands the Department of Justice drop all charges, immediately release all imprisoned activists and desist from terrorizing them.

The arrest and intimidation of our activists who have been seeking peace and freedom will not stop or undermine our determination, just as the U.S. military machinery could not intimidate us in Iraq.

At the same time IFC appeals to all people who seek freedom and peace to stand firm against the flagrant violations of human rights in a country that claims to export the concepts of democracy to the world.

Long live peace

Long live the anti-war movement

Long live the anti-war movement activists and leaders in the US

Samir Adil / Central Council of Iraq Freedom Congress

4. Recommended for the preservation
of 1st Amendment rights in wartime.
There is no harm in the anti-war movement.
If a nationalist, anti-empire movement ever got started, I'm sure the government response would be similar.
This is really about anti-nationalism also.
Nation or empire?
Citizens or dollars?
Which counts more? Which world do you want to live in?

5. K&R if this doesn't wake up Democrats what will?

I see many who I Believed were against these wars of lies, now making excuses for the wars, because now they are now Obama's wars.

I have hated these wars from their inception,I fought so hard to try to stop these wars from ever being started, I protested , I ran internet groups to educate as many people as possible of the lies in the build up of these immoral wars. Now I have had to look inside myself and ask..did I change or did my party change and did some democrats around me change?

I didn't change, I still hate hate hate these wars of lies. Now it is the leader of MY party who is the war President..

The work I did exposing the lies of these wars, was that just a big fat waste of time? Did my morals and principles change? NO THEY DID NOT. I feel just as strong in my beliefs today, as I did in the build up to these wars of lies. These wars were and are wrong , immoral, illegal, murderous and for greed.

Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld are war criminals and now by continuing these occupations Obama is as well.

It is the Party I have belonged to for 40 years, that I falsely believed, had the same morals and Principles that changed...It is not all Democrats,( by any means) ,of party members who have changed. But changed it has, and there is today a faction of people in the Democratic party, I no longer recognize. That Faction or fraction of so called Democrats , today cheer on these wars of lies because a Democratic President is continuing these wars of lies. They act and behave EXACTLY like the Bushbots who shoved war down our proverbial American throats.

I see them here each and every day. Here on a Progressive, Liberal message board. And I feel sick to my stomach. I never thought I would see.. so called Liberals ..defend these illegal wars of lies ..and yet I see it here daily by a certain group.

I come to DU less and less each day and week and month, because what I see here today, makes me vomit in my mouth!

There is a pac mentality that has taken over DU of right wing neo con attitudes and behavior that would make the Bushbots proud!

What does make me proud , is THEY ARE A VERY SMALL PAC, a very small minority.
Their propaganda has been seen through by the vast majority here at DU!

The majority of liberals and progressives here are TRUE to their principles and values as Democrats. I am proud to stand by their sides! The "Majority" of Liberals and Progressives still left here at DU, still today believe these wars are wrong , and immoral, and unjust! And must be stopped!

Most of my long time friends from DU have left here..because they can not and will not stomach the Pac who runs wild here, with their neo con/lib behavior and postings ...that very small minority..you know the ones who call themselves "NEW DEMOCRATS".

Well I am here to say, I AM DAMN PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF THE "OLD DEMOCRATS"! Our Values and Principles were never and are never for sale to the highest bidders! We can not be bought. We will not buy into the propaganda, we will fight for what is RIGHT. We will fight for true Democratic Values and Principles! No matter what stinking pile of horse shit they throw at us!

I however will not run ..I will not. I will fight for my principles at all cost. Because my principles and values are right!

We all know right from wrong and anyone with an ounce of integrity and principles and values should always fight for what is right. And never submit to the bullying tactics being used by some who would attempt to push upon us, what is wrong!

Proud "OLD DEMOCRAT"..

War, torture, rendition, state secrets, spying...these aren't right, no matter who is doing it.

9. Thanks, Ann. IFC is the democratic, secular movement we should be supporting
I met members of the group in 2005 the first time they came to the U.S. They are the real deal!

The US military and State Dept. should be supporting the democratic movements in Iraq AND Afghanistan. These movements want a government free of radical Islam and based on democratic principles, but the US policy has been to work with puppet governments and warlords.
