There's only one way Republicans take back the House and Senate....
The only way for them to take back congress, the only way, is if Democrats stay home this November election and let the energized teabagger base speak for them.

So I don't care if Obama throws a newborn child into a river. Get the hell out there and vote straight down the ticket for the Democrat, and convince all of your friends to do the same, and convince them to convince all of their friends to do the same.

It's been two years. Two. Give the guy a shot.

6. What an unfortunate analogy...
Our Democratic officials aren't living up to their part of the bargain. They're supposed to be working for change we can believe in.

Here in northern Texas, however, we have a chance to send some brand-new Democrats to Capitol Hill, including Grier Raggio, Tom Berry, Ted Ankrum, and John Lingenfelder. I'll be working for that.

8. It is true that they have not met expectations
however; the point of the op is we all need to get out and Vote.

I hope Texas pulls it off and gets those Dems in. I am in WA and we have one sleazy Repug trying to topple our Dem. This guy has run for several offices and lost each time.

12. I can't wait to cast votes for Democrats here in AZ.
Even if none of them wins, and that is the likely scenario, I will at least put one more vote in the Democratic column.

17. The problem isn't with "US", the politically plugged-in, activist bunch.
It's with the vast swaths of Obama-voters whose lives still suck after 2 years.

Not complicated.

20. I'm both
Avid Obama supporter / laid-off +55 year old worker. Unemployed and looking, for 10 mos. I still support Obama and the Dems by far; wish the Senate (all of them really) would get cojones; although I do think our President has shown a lot of courage and sincerity. Hope Obama has something up his sleeve to pull out the midterms, but it's looking less so. Anyway, looks like the Senate is handing off to him. So, at this point, he's da man.

19. Alright, listen up and listen good.
We've got 300 million crazed ayatollah rethug fanatics out there, who think Hawaii is a small town in Kenya. What do you think we can do about it??? You think we can make a difference, Stryker??? We voted last time and the time before and the time before that. What good has it done??? We're going to lose over 579 seats in both houses of congress combined. You're preaching to the choir, Stryker. Sorry if this sounds over dramatic, but I've been watching Airplane 2: The Sequel. Where's Elliot Ness? He wasn't in this one.

Everyone on this board is politically aware (if not involved). Very few- maybe something on the lines of 2% of DU'ers won't be voting.

Making time to volunteer or putting money up for donations is of course another matter... which is why traditionally the strategy is to "throw red meat out" to key constituencies (i.e. the base) during the run up to the midterms.

As for the rest of the electorate that pays considerably less attention- retreat with no red meat- in this economic and political climate- is not far short of self-immolation.

23. I've never voted any other way (for 38 years).
It can actually even matter here in redder-than-red Alaska - Mark Begich being an example. Now that the GOP ticket for Senate is split (Miller/Murkowski), Scott McAdams stands a chance. Can you imagine TWO Democratic Senators from Alaska? TWO???
