Have you noticed ??
...the price of gasoline going up in the last couple of weeks? What happens if it goes up to 3.50 - 4.00 per gallon just before election? Who gets blamed?

Of course, the Big Oil companies would never do anything like that, would they? That would put a terrible squeeze on this fragile economy.

Anyway, it's only up to 2.95 per gallon in Colorado today. Perhaps it will go back down this week?

6. I'd drive ten miles to buy at that price
Right now the best I could do within 10 miles is $2.79.

11. Coincidentally.......
....I drove ten miles to get it! That's how far I live out of town! he he

You know, they should be switching gas formulas soon and gas should get 10-15 cents a gallon cheaper. I think we'll see prices down around the 2.19 to 2.29 this winter.

4. Yes I have noticed
That's one reason I'm glad I only have to fill my 10 gal tank every few months. I won't blame the oil companies exclusively, I think most of the blame goes to the Wall St slime speculating on commodities futures. Of course there is that matter of oil companies having cheap-assed leases for drilling rights and just capping the wells until the price suits them.

7. It is not simply wall street slime -
all the big oil companies have their own trading floors (or are putting them in) as well.

13. It has gone up $0.28 a gallon here in the last 10 days.
I mentioned it to my wife last friday - it is astounding to me that nothing was being said about it. It was gas prices that broke the camel's back and began the current recession. I figured it was just the way the oil companies could help Republicans at the polls by making people's lives just a little bit more miserable, make voters a little more discontent.
