Was the Gonzo/Ashcroft scene a remake of Marathon Man?

I get the impression in my mind of Ashcroft in his hospital bed, surrounded by Gonzalas and his goons, with Ashcroft playing the Dustin Hoffman role, and Gonzo playing Laurence Olivier.

Anyone else get that mental picture? :scared:

Evidently, as soon as he found out that the two thugs were on their way, he rushed to the hospital with a siren going and got there before them! I didn't know the (acting) AG had a car outfitted like Starsky & Hutch's Gran Torino, but I guess he is the senior law enforcement official in this country, so maybe it's part of standard equipment. :shrug:
