Quit Trying to Scare Me. What are we really talking about
I read the statement I am tired of those trying to scare me, and I certainly have to agree that some of the fear mongering is sickening. However, with anything taken to an extreme it tends to make people generalize and opens them up to death, harm, or a situation that a little reason would have prevented. Sure fear has it's value to us and the constant fear factor over unlikely happenings need to stop, but we also have to be aware of those things that we should fear will not come to pass.

If you think about getting in your car and going as fast as you can into a wall, but a friend tells you not to do it because you will likely get killed or seriously injured, it would be stupid to say don't try to scare me, I will do it because I am tired of people trying to scare me. Suddenly the fear has been generalized to an unsafe and frankly insane level. If someone tells to avoid Mexicans because they will kidnap or behead you so stay away from them is an unreasonable thing and not worth accepting. We have to recognize each type of fear and act accordingly.

With Republicans being in charge, we should have a certain fear level. Look at their record. As a veteran I have to wait months for a first appointment because the Republicans have screwed it up so bad over the years it will take a long time to fix. Look at the economy and the shipwreck they created and so it is a reasonable fear that if they get power we will suffer. That is legit fear.

As a Katrina and Camille survivor I understand well that fear you better have going into such type storms. I knew what to expect as I watched Katrina come toward me, I felt the fear as parts of the roof of the shelter blew off and the reasonable fear of what could happen if I didn't get to the safer part of the shelter made me get to safety. I didn't say don't try to scare me I will stay here, but instead used good sense and went to the safer place. I think we have some who have gotten so tired of the fear mongering they won't even see the rational fear that keeps us sensible and reasonable.
