This thread made it to the greatest page. The OP is totally wrong and needs to be corrected.

The numbers used in the OP are for the first MONTH that Social Security falls short of current income, not a full year. All projections are off by a factor of 12.

This isn't the most embarrassing day of my life, but it's up there amongst 'em.

There is no excuse for this kind of thing and I apologize to any who read it and will PM all who commented to make a personal retraction.

13. No, I totally screwed up. Thanks for the helping hand but the

whole premise of the OP was screwed because I read a monthly payout as a an annual.

After backtracking I find varying numbers on monthly pay outs but some include disability and/or survivors as opposed to retirement only.

I just seriously fucked up and should have had enough smarts to see how far off the number was from reality.
