Tea Party Activists Protest Against John Cornyn For Allegedly Meddling In Alaska Senate Primary
Tea Party activists in Texas protested against Republican home state Sen. John Cornyn on Thursday to make clear they don't want him or the GOP establishment interfering with the electoral ambitions of the conservative movement.

NBC affiliate in Texas KETK reports that angry constituents held demonstrations "at all of" the Senator's offices in the Lone Star State to protest accusations of meddling in Alaska's recent U.S. Senate primary.

Cornyn, who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee, caught fire last week after Tea Party-backed U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller said he sensed "some game play going on" with the NRSC "meddling" in his primary fight to unseat incumbent Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

The suggestion came in the wake of news that a lawyer for the NRSC was heading to Alaska to help Murkowski's campaign before a final batch of deciding ballots were set to be tallied.

1. I find this story hard to believe. Cornyn is pure teabagger and birther.

3. But he's also head of the NRSC
Murkowski was supposed to be a shoe-in. Old John isn't so much a bagger or birther as he is an opportunist. He assumed the fringe he help attract would bow to his will. He was wrong.

2. No, it's true.

Miller has been busy slamming all of the Republican leadership in Washington. He's an idiot, and my hope is he will go down HARD. It's looking good here, assuming Lisa doesn't mount a write-in campaign in which case she could possibly pull it off since her favorability ratings are still high here. So far, though, she has given no indication that she's going to do that.

A few years ago, Miller and Palin tried unsuccessfully to oust Alaska's Republican Party chairman. My guess is HIS support is less than enthusiastic.

Andrew Halcro, a strong supporter of Murkowski, who ran against Sarah for governor in 2006 stated on Shannyn Moore's TV show last night that in a head-to-head race between Miller and McAdams, he will support McAdams. I'm sure he's not the only Lisa supporter who feels that way.
