I presume it was some time after the Kinks first sang "A Well Respected Man."

4. back in the 1950's the extreme right were all vexed about "Mental Health"!
Evidently several of their leading lights had had professional issues with the psychiatric community, and they chose to interpret this as leftist persecution...They began to hate health foods and flouriudated water about the same time, too.

This all coincided with the increase in publicity of flying saucers, and it allgot kind of lumped together...many on the right are still not sure about them saucers

How could anyone suspect the mental health of a Palin, say, or a Rand Paul?

5. I have noticed this
It is very strange because disease prevention should be important to everyone, but everything has to be about politics to them. It is just another symptom of reducing everything in our society to "us vs them".

7. Good old Dr. Kellogg.
Because there was a man who was truly of sound mind.

The man thought women stole men's "lively vigors" (life force, basically) during sex and that pooping a lot would lead to long-life.

10. Overeating, eating saturated fats and other unhealty foods, etc.
is good for the giant corporations that sell those things. Eating unprocessed food eliminates many of those middlemen.

Somehow "conservative" values always end up siding with what's best for the large corporations.

13. I'm a member of the professional left and I will not give up my bacon.
That's about the only saturated fat I eat, but damn, it's bacon. Bacon and beer - signs God loves us and wants us to be happy. (Apologies to Ben Franklin, who I'm sure would agree with my sentiments.)
