It's time for progressives to call out the various religious communities about freedom of religion. This is a perfect teaching moment and litmus test. Let's see which American Christians, Jews, Hindu's, Buddhists, Mormons, Humanists, Wiccans, Scientologists, Rick Warrenists, Sikhs, Animists, Rastafarians, etc will stand for religious freedom for others, no matter how politically inconvenient. Make sure to invite plenty of non bigoted Republicans for plenty of photo ops, force it to be a well publicized bipartisan moral test. The media will also put themselves on trial with how they handle this.

After all, what would Jesus do?

1. The most loving Jesu wouldn't invite Xenu
Moneychangers in the Temple and all that.

I suspect he would invite Buddhists, though.

2. Absolutely not.
I don't want any president or government official welcoming any religion anywhere.
And if he did that they would say he violated the constitutional prohibiting in the establishment clause.

5. No. The President should not have an "event" at *ANY* religious institutions.

Violates the establishment clause.

Yes... I know other Presidents were present for church dedications. Those Presidents were wrong.

6. Yes, he should AND
He should announce Islam as the country's new official religion causing massive death from stopped hearts, swallowing tongues, choking on froth, etc. on the right-wing side. Then he should end his speech with, "SIKE!" walk off the dais, get him some food at the event and leave.
