MADISON, Wis. — U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen says Afghanistan is starting to look like Vietnam all over again.

Kagen, D-Wis., said Monday that after a trip to the war-torn country last week he continues to believe the military should pull out. He said similar to Vietnam, he does not believe the U.S. will be able to reach a point where victory can be declared.

Kagen was joined on the trip by Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and four other members of Congress.

Baldwin says the next year will be critical as Congress re-evaluates how long troops should stay in Afghanistan.

Kagen and Baldwin were among those who voted in July against further funding for the war in Afghanistan.

unhappycamper comment: Sure wish my congresscritter, Steven Lynch (Dino-MA-09), would vote to stop these adventures.

5. no brainer is right..so obvious i cant get my mind around why we continue this fiasco
the repubs are lining up against this war even though that in itself is confusing..but they want their majority again and will do anything to get it..so watch the repubs and the left to be stranger than strange bedfellows ..this is obamas' debacle now..there is nothing defensible about this war as most of the country knows.
