If you claim to support the constitution and freedom of religion, and, equality. This court just affirmed that! So stop crying about equality and stop trying to pervert the constitution by trying to throw your religion onto other folks with regard to marriage.

Lastly if you don't like freedom and equality then you might want to try moving to somewhere else that doesn't like freedom and equality.

And they came out in DROVES in support of Prop 8, sending all sorts of money down there to see it pass. The church itself came out in support of it -- they should have their tax-exempt status yanked for that alone!

It sure is amazing how, with all the issues affecting this country and the world, all the starving and needy, how they can't find any spare money to donate to worthy causes, but they can always find plenty of spare money to support something like this.

Their priorities are whack.

the rhetorical style leaves much to be desired.

An announcement to "All The Right Wingers" on DU is a wasted effort. The message is tailored to the wrong audience. There aren't supposed to BE any right wingers on DU. Of course, there are always a few lurkers, and with the Democratic Party lurching eagerly to the right, inevitably the micro-fraction of right-wingers is bound to increase eventually. Still...this is a particular pet peeve of mine.

Suggesting that people move elsewhere if they don't agree weakens the argument considerably, since it mirrors the often-criticized rhetoric of the other side, which DU considers to be inferior in most ways.

Ending posts with "that is all," which happens frequently on DU, is a conclusion that weakens the message. It makes a god-like pronouncement geared to shutting down, rather than inviting, discussion.

Okay, I'm done. I'm obviously ready for the new school year to start, when I'd rather critique an anonymous internet user's rhetorical style than go out in the summer heat to do the tasks awaiting me.
