How worthless is this legislature - they pass an anti-pot brownie bill
with no problem but have to take unemployment insurance extension to two votes?

I am so glad they have their priorities in order.

Maybe next they can debate how many homeless people pets can dance on the head of a pin.

1. well, uh, uh -- it's a good thing they're not Republicans! Right!?
I mean, imagine how pro-corporate, pro-prohibition, pro-war they'd...

Oh, never mind...

2. An anti-pot brownie FOR KIDS bill.
That fact is left out far too often.

I do agree that the bill was a waste of time in general.

5. The bill is directed at people with the "intent" of selling cannabis sweets to kids.

20. I never said it was a problem, and am not defending the bill
I'm also a legal MMJ patient who cosumes edibles occasionally, and will continue to do so legally.

Relax.

10. No, it's not. That is bullshit.
It gives pot-based baked goods double the penalty of regular pot. Kids have absolutely nothing to do with it, except in the bullshit rationalization of "Oh won't someone PLEASE think of the children!"

18. We have plenty of legal products for adults and we do just fine keeping them that way.
There is candy with alcohol in it, for fuck's sake. Personally, as someone who can't drink, I'd be much more worried about that shit, or desserts in fancy restaurants with brandy in them.

These brownies are for people like chemo patients who can't smoke the stuff.

22. Brownies are the gateway to fudge
Edited on Sat Jul-31-10 01:33 AM by kenny blankenship
Maybe you hippies think cookies and brownies are harmless enough, and maybe, back when Jerry Garcia was passing them out on Haight street and they weren't strong like they are today, you might have had a good argument; but even a tiedyed flower child will admit that fudge is the hard stuff, the stuff their friends don't come back from.

"it's as pure as anything I've seen outside a lab."
Gannon: Should get them really "far-out"
Friday: Yeah. All the way to the morgue.

6. it is a stupid, stupid waste of time and attention
it's the sort of dumbass stunt politicians pull to show how hard on crime they are - for a situation that doesn't need one more law.

These polls make me want to throw up.

They could give a shit about REAL PROBLEMS.

This is not a real problem.

There is none, at least as far as the Common Good or even Common Sense goes.

There is an agenda, to be sure, but it is not motivated by the what's best for We, the People.

Maybe then the Senate would get rid of the filibuster.
