Luke Russert is the Chimpy W. Bush (or Evan Bayh) of the corporate media. Got his job based on nothing but his daddy's name.

Fuck this little turd.

1. They're falling over themselves to praise him.
If Rangel wasn't already in serious trouble, Little Luke would never have had the balls to ask that question. Show me when he asks someone like John Boehner an aggressive question.

"He may be a dead media whore's unqualified son but he's OUR dead media whore's unqualified son."

Wash, rinse, repeat.

14. Thanks for the reminder.
My favorite lines about Timmeh from the article:

"...whose stock in trade was the deftly pulled punch? Why a requiem mass for a pet canary?"

19. Here is the best paragraph and it is as true as Geometry.
"With the butter Russert was a master craftsman, his specialty the mixing of it with just the right drizzle of salt. The weekend videotapes, presumably intended to display Russert at the top of his game, deconstructed the recipe. To an important personage Russert asked one or two faintly impertinent questions, usually about a subject of little or no concern to anybody outside the rope lines around official Washington; sometimes he discovered a contradiction between a recently issued press release and one that was distributed by the same politician some months or years previously. No matter with which spoon Rus sert stirred the butter, the reply was of no interest to him, not worth his notice or further comment. He had sprinkled his trademark salt, his work was done. The important personage was free to choose from a menu offering three forms of response—silence, spin, rancid lie. If silence, Russert moved on to another topic; if spin, he nodded wisely; if rancid lie, he swallowed it. The highlight reels for the most part show him in the act of swallowing.
"

6. "part of the family" doesn't make him qualified.
Ever seen FAUX Noize Sunday with Chris Wallace? He ain't his daddy either.

The corporate media is already a joke as it is. This nepotism isn't making it any better.

Exactly how it hurts me? It hurts the entire fucking country.

Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go change the channel.... mediawhore jr. and his buddy Chuck Fraud are making me violently ill. :puke:

He has spoken about how he wouldn't be where he was today if it wasn't for Tim Russert. Luke is Tim's son. Keith's defense of him is only natural.

12. To be honest...
I think he asked a totally appropriate question, and handled himself well when Rangle pushed back. Rangle was quite upset at the ethics charges and was totally dismissive of Russert because he did ask a tough question and Rangle didn't want to answer. Use his youth against him. This young man did not back down.

Give him a chance; he may have gotten the job because of who he, but he might keep it by proving he's good at it.

23. Lots of people get jobs because of their parents. Chelsea Clinton is a hedge fund manager
because of her parents and their money. Luke asked a reasonable question and Rangel answered inappropriately for such a seasoned politician.
Tim Russert was 2000 times better than the stooge sitting in his chair now. The op's header is shock jock quality or at best Fox News chiron material.

Since it also brings up the elitist nepotism and in her case, the collusion between the DLC and Wall Street criminals.

33. No, fuck Rangel for his inability to deal with the truth...
He tried to intimidate the kid because he's a kid, but Luke didn't back down once. He stood up to Rangel and that earns some respect in my book.

People around here piss and moan about journalistic standards, but when one actually does his job they don't like it because he nailed a Dem who is under investigation.

crap or kow-towing to someone under investigation for ethics or other violations. They are public servants, for Christmas sake, just like any good journalis, their job is to afflict the comfortable, and comfort the afflicted.

Seems the powers that be are trying to train Americans to accept bloodlines as an intregral part of life. Class warfare must have heritary classes and a caste system. People must know (and keep) their place.

IOW: If you weren't born to it, you don't get it, so eat your crumb and sit still while your betters crap on your heads.
