Please vote for my dad...

Hi fellow DU'ers, my dad sings in choir and has made it to the second level in a contest. Now it's up to the public to vote for their favorite choir, and send them to the next level.

He's been singing his whole life. When I was little he and his band used to practice in the basement, which was street level, there was always a crowd around to listen. I personally think he could have been the next Al Green, but what do I know. :-)

He's in his seventies and still going strong. He's the lead singer for his choir. You'll see him in the video should you choose to vote.

The sound quality isn't the best. I think he's a great singer, and the best dad in the world. He's a great guy.

The market you'll be voting for is Philadelphia PA. His choir is "Simpson United Methodist Church" once you reach his video, (you'll scroll till you see it) just vote yes.

9. The Gospel Choirs and the way they become one with the music

was the best part of campaigning in the African American neighborhoods here in Cleveland.

I use to tell all my Friends that they don't know what they were missing.

I miss that.

I can't get out like I use to. I'm just glad I had the chance to share in the joy...

11. I don't go to church regularly...

but I do enjoy Gospel music. Maybe it's because I grew up hearing it, and frankly all other kinds of music. It was pretty cool having a dad that could/can sing. My mom can play the piano and used to play classical music. One of the first pieces that I remember her playing was Moonlight Sonata, to this day it's still one of my favorites. It always makes me smile when I hear it.

I hope you get out to hear it again. It makes me happy.
