Is Scooter Libby in Jail?????
Edited on Sun May-13-07 08:11 AM by spanone
Is Scooter in jail yet? He did plead guilty.

EDIT: Scooter did not plead guilty....I mis-typed and mis-thought.

Wishful thinking on my part.

1. What?
What did Scooter plead guilty to? Why wasn't this ever reported?

Scooter was convicted. He pled "not guilty" (or, in the vernacular, "innocent"). He is free pending his sentencing--June 5th, I believe.

7. Isn't His Appeal Hearing Coming Up?
Maybe this is what the OP is asking about.

This could be interesting if Scooter is ordered into the Orange Jump suit. What will boooshie do???

10. I would not
want to be Scooter when he faces Judge Walton. I do not think that either he or Team Libby has secured a warm spot in the judge's heart.

13. Isn't Walton Also Now On The Monica Beat??
"Team Libby" sure isn't gonna be writing any law journals on this case...

Any thoughts on who else gets thrown under the bus to protect Rove? The roadway is getting awfully litered. Maybe Goodling will surprise us and sing...and maybe those Palast E-mails could open some doors, too.

On the Fitz beat...he just indicted a long-time Chicago pol..."Fast Eddie" Vrydolak. This dude's been a patronage boss for over 30 years. He started as a Democrat and then flipped Repugnican. It'd be nice to see Fitz nail this crook.

Cheers...

:hi:

17. It's Judge Hogan
who has immunized her and said she has to testify. He was significant in the Plame case because he was the judge who ruled Judy must testify and was the one, I believe, who sent her to jail.

19. Thanks For The Correction
That's a good sign...I hope. Goodling could become a John Dean type here if she so chooses...or the next Rosemary Woods.

Cheers...

20. The Thing I Aways Remember About Hogan
was how shocked he was by the egregious behavior of the Plame malefactors and the harm they had done. Now, in the form of Goodling and others of her ilk, it has been brought home to his very own justice dept. I don't think the judge can be very happy with her.

12. I do not
mean to be obnoxious .... it comes naturally, without effort .... but too often, we see people who do not understand the very significant differences between "not guilty" and "innocent." And for people who base their opinions of the Libby and other important cases on the misinformation served up by the corporate media, the idea of "innocent" is too often mistakenly believed to be at issue in a trial.

6. You are correct, sentencing Jun 5th, he didn't plead guilty
to any charges. There is a motion for a new trial, and if that is rejected there will be appeals.

8. I am not
sure that there is a motion for a new trial at this point.

11. No motion filed for new trial

http://www.talkleft.com/story/2007/4/13/215732/978

I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby filed court documents today saying he will not be requesting a new trial in the trial court. He's going to make his arguments in the Court of Appeals.

His sentencing is set for June 5, 2007.

15. The Big Q: Will the judge let him remain free pending appeal!
Judge Walton has the power to send Libby to jail immediately, if he does not believe Scooter's appeal has a chance of winning. So we might see ye ol' frog march within a month! More likely, the Judge will give the convicted criminal a month or so to get his affairs in order.

16. That is "THE" question.
Judge Walton might not be the person most inclined to grant Scooter any favors at this point.
