Those gotta be some big-assed fires in Georgia.
I'm a couple of hundred miles to the south, in the Tampa Bay area. Visibility is probably less than a mile. It looks like heavy fog outside. I can barely see across the small river on my street. And the whole place smells like a campfire.

I was hoping to make it through mid-May without turning on the AC this year. Looks like it's going on in a few minutes.

1. That's probably from Lake City, FL, Doc.
We've got fires all over FL, too.

3. Lake City is still almost 150 miles away.
I'm supposed to go up to Citrus County this evening, for a cookout-fundraiser at Suzan Franks house. It's gotta be worse up there.

2. I thought there were fires in Tampa as well
I heard them saying that they were shutting down one of the main highways two days ago because of fires.

The good news - rain is coming from Louisiana way.

4. I just drove back from TN.
Driving through GA was no problem. Driving through Florida was rough! We have 4 fires right now in Lee County, Collier has 3 , a big one burning in the Everglades and as huge one by Orlando.

9. My brother-in-law is a smoke jumper in Florida.
He is probably in the thick of the fire right now. I'm not sure how he does that job.

10. I'm just west of you in Tarpon. I can not breathe.
I had to wipe ashes off of my car windows to day! It is unreal. I usually walk around the bayou with a friend in the morning. No go today, to bad for the lungs. Went to the gym instead and could still smell it inside. My house reeks.
