1. well, see, they sort of were allowed to plan the future
and now we're living in that future...which is rapidly deteriorating into a mere fight for survival. I keep picturing Dick Cheney wearing a robe in some dark, subterranean chamber, genuflecting to some putrid, horrible, soul-eating trans-dimensional monster, who's patting him on his head and telling him "Good...good. You have done well, my servant."
