When did Rupert Murdoch take over CNN?

Maybe its just that Rick Sanchez and Brabara Starr are auditioning for FOX.

Did anybody see their phone interview with the reporter that broke the McCrystal story? Sanchez kept asking (in the most condescending manner he could muster) whether or not he had made clear what was on the record, whether he could have misinterpreted, etc.

The Starr asked him if McCrystal was aware of the things his staff were saying. I waould have turned it around and asked her if she was suggesting that McCrystal was not dishonorable, but instead was merely stupid.

Thrn thry went on (and later Klein) about how the general didn't say this or that, it was his staff. As if that absolved him. If he was any kind of a superior he would not allow his staff to act that way and reminded them in no uncertain terms who they work for.

I repeat John Stewart's line: "These fucking guys."

1. Many at CNN are simply part of the CIA.

So you can imagine what their instructions are in terms of breaking a story like this one about McCrystal.

I have not watched daytime CNN for anything other than huge disaster stories like Katrina and now sadly, the Gulf. I'd rather watch KO or Rachel report on a breaking story like McChrystal.

What blew me away about CNN was the day that Wellstone's plane went down.

Wolf Blitzer went out onto the Eveleth MN Airfield and grabbed the mike out of the hands of the woman media person there - she was saying, quite emphatically, that the weather was not the cause of the accident. Blitzer was not about to let her state that truth. (If the weather had been a big issue, then the air field manager would not have gotten into his own plane and gone up looking for the Wellstone plane, ten minutes after they lost its location at the air traffic tower.)

It is also amazing that Blitzer got to the air field in such record time. Normally takes a few hours to go from East Coast to Minnesota...
