6. I agree, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make an outdated Waterworld reference.
Hopefully this will be by far Costner's most successful aquatic endeavor.

3. These machines are good in that they are used after the fact
and actually do separate the oil from the water. Kevin Costner's company might just save the Gulf

7. Smart PR move. Hope it helps the oil situation.
A report recently said that the machines weren't useful, and 32 doesn't sound like enough to do much, but BP ordering the invention of a high profile celebrity is sure to get a lot of media play. That's what BP wants--news coverage showing them doing stuff to fix it.

I'm sure most BP employees (and other oil company employees, since there are a lot of companies busy out there right now) want this to end and are doing all they can to stop it. Maybe they can use the Costner to clean up, regardless of the intentions of the upper brass for buying them.
