Kabul, Afghanistan (AHN) - According to officials in southern Afghanistan, a 7-year-old boy was killed by suspected Taliban militants after he was accused of spying for the government.


The execution occurred in the Sangin district of Helmand province Tuesday, reported Provincial Governor Dawoud Ahmadi.

Militants have carried out similar executions in the past of people accused of spying.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said during a news conference Thursday that the incident was being investigated, and that he condemned the act if it proved to be true, calling it a “crime against humanity.
