I clearly have been here too long. I can predict what you'll find on DU the day after an election, after someone dies, after a big policy shift.

Am I the only one?

1. No, the ill-informed knee-jerk hysteria is both tiresome and amusing
A delicate balance, to be sure.

:hi: proles!

Are the Plutocrats still cheering and jeering over their victories?

7. Great! I've put on my tophat and cane and I'm on the way to my megabank carrying '$' bags

Review Senator Lincoln's voting record and tell me it's really all that bad.

Note: SEIU = 69. Not bad for an anti-union stooge, eh?

8. Nah How could I deny the Arkansans their love of Walmart Politicians?
Edited on Wed Jun-09-10 10:22 AM by Moochy
ARKANSANS NEED CHEAP ASS CHINESE-PRISON-LABOR-MADE PLASTIC PATIO FURNITURE TOO! How elitist of me to think that unions might know better than the crusty old dlc machine?

4. It's kind of like a train wreck
I want to look away, but there is some sort of perverse curiosity that draws me back in.

:hi: back

3. Yep, people who volunteered, worked their butts off for a good candidate
Their hopes are dashed and some asshole comes along to gloat over their failed effort. As predictable as the tides, but not nearly so compassionate.

5. An anonymous, unnamed source
But nobody thinks it could be Politico just stirring the pot. Politico never would do something like that.

6. Yes there is
Two of DUs features:
(1) the ignore list and
(2) the hide thread feature.

Sometimes I wish that ignore list had a date feature so I could tell just how long I've been ignoring someone.

I also wish sometimes that I could choose to hide entire forums.

10. I make liberal use of that "hide thread" feature....
Especially when there are three or four (or more) threads going on the same topic.

9. The Flavor Of The Moment...
Seems like there's a new bright shiny toy being tossed around here very day. The day after an election is always anti-climatic...all those months of hopes and then poof, it's over. Some gloat, others spite us all and the beat goes on. Within hours another Olive Garden or Helen Thomas or Mooselini story comes along and off goes DU chasing the latest "big thing". Honestly, it's what I really enjoy about the place.

12. I know - just the other day, there was talk about Sarah Palin's alleged boob job
Honestly, I don't give a damn. Those implants aren't going to make her any smarter, so I don't wanna hear it, either.
